Drawing upon the hallmarks of all-American style, Ralph Lauren embraced timelessness and practicality at his diffusion line. From a versatile checked shirt dress to a smart navy peacoat, these were clothes that were unfussy and trend-proof. Lauren also proved he’s a master of tailoring, cutting a mean pair of flared pants and a lust-worthy camel coat. He also couldn’t resist returning to the Western themes that have since defined his career—a suede jacket embellished with patches had the grit of cowboys, while colourful Navajo prints brought out the beauty of the American plains.
