DOUBLE DEPARTURES

Is Raf Simons heading over to Calvin Klein? After all, both Francisco Costa and Italo Zucchelli have stepped down from their roles as Creative Directors of Calvin Klein. Their exit is part of the brand’s move to bring together its lines under a singular voice, and Simons is rumoured to be the frontrunner to unify the brand. “This creative strategy marks the beginning of another significant chapter in Calvin Klein’s brand legacy since Mr Klein’s retirement,” explained Chief Executive Officer Steve Shiffman. Costa joined in 2001 and supercharged its womenswear line with sleekness; Zucchelli refined the sportswear aesthetic with his men’s collections during his 12 years at the helm.

QUEEN OF THE NILE

Indulge your inner Cleopatra with Freywille’s latest collection of Egyptianstyle jewellery. Inspired by the artefacts unearthed from the tombs of Egyptian royalty, the dazzling assortment of bangles, rings and necklaces are decorated with patterns and geometric shapes that closely resemble intricate hieroglyphs. Whether worn alone or stacked on your wrists, the accessories are sure to charm.

NEW HORIZONS

Every once in a while, brands release new designs to rejuvenate their inventories. Following the likes of the Antigona and Pandora, Givenchy’s latest Horizon bag looks set to become another House icon. It’s also one that draws heavily from Givenchy’s codes: An unmistakable feature of the structured top-handle is a wide band inspired by a design element that runs through Creative Director Riccardo Tisci’s works, while the bag’s angular lines and contrasting materials bring to mind fixtures in the brand’s boutiques or runway show set-ups.
