My Reading Room

1. THE SPORTY BLUEBLOOD

Omega has introduced a new size into its Speedmaster collection and we’re not surprised if it proves to be a winner with women. It’s available in 14 different executions, each faithfully continuing the sporty, elegant spirit that has made the collection one of the brand’s most beloved. With just the right hint of Sedna gold, we wouldn’t mind waking up to this diamond-studded, bi-coloured “cappuccino” number every morning.

2. THE DAZZLING DEBUTANTE

Recalling Monsieur Dior’s legendary love for flowers, the stunning Dior Grand Sol Botanic collection offers eight one-of-a-kind designs that you’ll fall in love with at first sight.

A trove of precious stones (in a myriad of cuts) and materials are expertly used to create a fantastical multi-layered, three-dimensional floral dial—just so you can carry a stunning garden around with you wherever you go.

3 . THE EXUBERANT SHOWMAN

It’s been 25 years since Rolex released its first Yacht-Master. And there have been regular updates of the timepiece since then, but none as jaw-dropping as this one here. This is the first time ever that the nautical number is presented with gemstones—in the colours of the rainbow, no less. Finished with Rolex’s famous Oysterflex strap, this vivacious number is set to make anyone who sees it do a double-take.

4. THE TIMELESS ARISTOCRAT

Trust Patek Philippe to deliver a diamond-cloaked number with all the discernment of a true patrician. Bearing 25 different sized and cut diamonds (including brilliant, baguette and trapeze), this haute joaillerie version of its latest Aquanaut Luce is a gem-setting feat that sees both invisible and snow-setting techniques being used to secure its eight-carats worth of diamonds.

The results are as pleasing to the eye as they are to the heart.

Rose gold and diamond Aquanaut Luce, Patek Philippe.

5. THE CLASSIC SOPHISTICATE

For 2017, Bulgari has introduced the feminine moon phase complication into its Lucia collection, ensuring the range of timepieces a place in women’s hearts. Available in three executions—a steel and pink gold version with diamond hour-markers; a pink gold with diamond-studded strap lugs and bezel; and the white gold diamond bezel edition shown here—our favourite feature of the watch is the three-dimensional moon that has been set against a rich hearth of ruby or sparkling aventurine glass.
