For the past couple of seasons, Tod’s has staged avant-garde performances as part of its pre- runway show experience. Last year, it tapped on Vanessa Beecroft for an installation that saw Karlie Kloss lying tableau vivant as artisans began sewing her into a leather ensemble. For fall 2017, Tod’s worked with Thomas de Falco on an installation that displayed the age-old art of loom woven tapestries. Featuring Naomi Campbell as some form of a Mother Earth figure, it put the spotlight back  on the brand’s expertise in craft. As for the clothes that came after the thought-provoking performance? A clear focus on chic outerwear, with beautiful leather parkas, sweeping trench coats and an au courant puffer jacket.
