Cue the two looks that you see here by Gucci’s Alessandro Michele: sporty wool balaclavas paired with jewels and dazzling cocktail dresses – his idea of “eccentric and attractive”. The likes of Chloe’s Natacha Ramsay-Levi and Dior’s Maria Grazia Chiuri one-upped the boots-meets-pretty-dress formula with plenty of ornamental details (feathered trims, applique flowers) and full-on accessories. Even Kaiser Karl’s in on it, his mix of evening gowns with gloves, flat lace-up shoes and oversized clutches at Chanel erasing all boundaries between casual and formal.
