The King Lives On
For her Holiday jewellery line, Tory Burch is going the ornate, vintage route with help from one of the most celebrated names in the business. The range (earrings, brooches and a cuff, $280-$530) was designed by the late Kenneth Jay Lane, whose bold aesthetic and unconventional colour combinations drew the likes of Elizabeth Taylor. That they’re reincarnations of his archive pieces, and one of his last works before his passing in July, make them all the more special for the festive season.
SOLO ACT
At the recent S/S ’18 shows, Jil Sander’s new creative directors Luke and Lucie Meier paid tribute to the brand’s founder by interpreting her lesser-known “light and sensual” side. Now, Frankfurt’s Museum Angewandte Kunst will up that homage with Sander’s first solo, self-titled exhibition (Nov 4, 2017-May 6, 2018). Spanning 3,000 sqm, the event is co-curated by the museum director Matthias Wagner K and Sander herself, and includes installations and pieces from her private archives, product design, architecture, and her surprising passion for gardens.
THE “IT” FACTOR
In fashion’s street style circus, the perennially OTT Anna Dello Russo (far left) is to us one of the rare bona fide stars, because she also knows how to laugh about it.
