Even before Maria Grazia Chiuri joined its fashion arm
Even before Maria Grazia Chiuri joined its fashion arm, Dior was already putting a pretty-meets-cool spin on practical luxury with its watches. As part of its 70th anniversary, it’s launched two limited edition timepieces that show how it’s a master of the aesthetic. Drawing from the Pharaoh-inspired S/S ’04 couture collection, the La Mini D de Dior Satine Tressee is a slender cocktail watch with a mesh bracelet made of gold thread. Meanwhile, the Dior VIII Montaigne Tissage Precieux is a 36mm day watch that contrasts a herringbone ribbon strap with a gold and diamond dial in three different patterns, each recalling a signature weave: the cannage (above), herringbone or houndstooth.
