All eyes on these CLEO staffers as they test out eyeshadow palettes that can take them from work to party!
I used Milky Way on the inner corners, and Sunburst and Ultra Violet to contour the eyelids.
WHAT: Fenty Beauty Galaxy Eyeshadow Palette, $82
TESTER: Sophie Hong, Senior Features Writer
“BadGalRiRi isn’t playing around! The colours vary from sheer shimmers to dark and glittery, and are quite saturated, even when you apply it with a brush. But for a more intense colour payoff, I’d recommend using your fingers. There is a good variety of shades for both day and party looks. The price is a bit steep for me, but you do get a lot of mileage out of this palette and I’m sure makeup junkies will love it!”
To create this look,
I used the middle and the
two darker shades.
WHAT: M.A.C Snowball Eye Compact in Rose Gold, $78
TESTER: Taphath Chin, Designer
“Believe it or not, this is the first time I’ve ever used eyeshadow! Thanks to some YouTube tutorials, all it took was just 15 minutes to create this look. I like that this palette comes with a brush, which makes highlighting and shading easy. The colours turned out well and, most importantly, the shades are suitable for everyday. This is great for newbies like me. It’s a bit pricey, but I would buy it if I felt impulsive that day!”
I blended Dune, Copper and Jasper
together, using Sterling to highlight
and Onyx to line my eyes.
WHAT: Kat Von D Shade + Light Glimmer Eye Contour Palette, $73
TESTER: Leong Li Yuan, Senior Designer
“I’m a makeup beginner, but thankfully, the (very pigmented) colours are easy to blend. At first, I was worried that the glittery shades would be OTT but the sparkly finish looks amazing! For 12 shades, I would say that this palette is value for money.”
