WHAT: Fenty Beauty Galaxy Eyeshadow Palette, $82

“BadGalRiRi isn’t playing around! The colours vary from sheer shimmers to dark and glittery, and are quite saturated, even when you apply it with a brush. But for a more intense colour payoff, I’d recommend using your fingers. There is a good variety of shades for both day and party looks. The price is a bit steep for me, but you do get a lot of mileage out of this palette and I’m sure makeup junkies will love it!”
WHAT: M.A.C Snowball Eye Compact in Rose Gold, $78

“Believe it or not, this is the first time I’ve ever used eyeshadow! Thanks to some YouTube tutorials, all it took was just 15 minutes to create this look. I like that this palette comes with a brush, which makes highlighting and shading easy. The colours turned out well and, most importantly, the shades are suitable for everyday. This is great for newbies like me. It’s a bit pricey, but I would buy it if I felt impulsive that day!”
WHAT: Kat Von D Shade + Light Glimmer Eye Contour Palette, $73

“I’m a makeup beginner, but thankfully, the (very pigmented) colours are easy to blend. At first, I was worried that the glittery shades would be OTT but the sparkly finish looks amazing! For 12 shades, I would say that this palette is value for money.”
