You know the saying “why fix something if it isn’t broken?” Well, MSGM’s Massimo Giorgetti doesn’t pay heed to that. Known for its signature prints, MSGM made a departure from what it did best this season, opting for a new sense of sophistication with barely a pattern in sight. In its place? Eyeball searing colours like shocking pink, electric orange and highlighter yellow all mashed together like one giant electro dance rave infused into modern and boxy silhouettes that wouldn’t look out of place in any fashion girl’s wardrobe. Concentrating on textures, this season saw a heavy use of Mongolian lamb chubbies in patchwork, mohair scarves, and extra-long pockets, all designed to create contrast and vibrancy. In short, the label, like its designer, is 100 percent pure energy.
