Since we’ve already exhausted grunge and rave, the next subculture that’s ready to be explored? Science fiction. With its cutting edge cyberpunk couture, sci-fi masterpiece The Matrix is still diffusing its influence today. Although created almost two decades ago, this season, it’s inspiring luxury designers like Balenciaga with its thin-framed, almost cat-eyed sunglasses and leather trench coats that Insta-girls are clamouring to get their hands on. Will this trend stay, or is it just an illusion?
