While the '90s was all about minimalism, the '80s was all about excess. We’re talking neon fabrics, oversized silhouettes and ostentatious jewellery, all worn with equally OTT hair, of course. It was dark times for fashion indeed. But before you renounce the trend entirely, fret not. Modern day interpretations are a bit more streamlined, with designers choosing to focus on exaggerated proportions or shimmery fabrics that captured the decadence of the era. And after countless seasons focusing on simplicity, isn't a little drama just what we all need?
