Remember when the world found out that Chris Pratt had been cast as the lead in Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy and everyone was, like: “Andy Dwyer?!?” Oh, how happily times have changed. These days, Chris Pratt is a confirmed stud, a new-age Harrison Ford who packs charisma, goofy humour and sex appeal all in one eminently likable package.

So likable, in fact, that Star-Lord was almost fat. In spite of the fact that Chris was overweight at the time, director James Gunn was so impressed by Chris’ audition that he was going to cast him as “the world’s first overweight superhero” anyway. While we’re pretty sure we would have loved the wisecracking Star-Lord regardless of how much he weighed, let’s also say, for the record, that a shirtless scene starring a buffed-up Chris certainly doesn’t hurt either.

After conquering 2014 with both Guardians and The Lego Movie, Chris is back to take on 2015 with the big-budget Jurassic World. Meanwhile, he’s also a rumoured castmember of the upcoming Ghostbusters and Indiana Jones sequels. So it seems like the former “Fat Pratt” is quickly on his way to becoming the Hollywood version of butter – he makes everything better. Chris, Chris and even more Chris? We’re not complaining.

Because even when he’s got a racoon’s finger in his eye, he can still look on the lighter side.
