ION Orchard turns eight this year and we’re going to do what we do best – celebrate in remarkable style. To mark yet another year of creating innovative shopping experiences through new concepts and flagship stores, look out for eight months of non-stop celebrations in collaboration with various brands, before we end it off with a gala dinner and outdoor fashion concert in September – preview the highlights on pages 6 and 7.
This season sees fashion’s white-hot brand Gucci opening the doors of its first concept store in the region, designed by creative director Alessandro Michele himself. We’re also thrilled to see Bottega Veneta unveil its newly expanded concept store, with a Customization Atelier that allows you to personalise your leather goods. We also warmly welcome fashion brands Giuseppe Zanotti and Loro Piana, as well as jeweller Graff on board soon.
Then there are the beauty powerhouses: M·A·C Cosmetics, Sulwhasoo and Elizabeth Arden, all of which are joining forces with a bigger Sephora and a host of other beauty brands to make us the number one beauty address on Orchard Road. Take a whiff of what the new Jo Malone London store has to offer, as well as the relocated Penhaligon’s – read all about these and more in the beauty pages.
We also keep tabs on three of 2017’s biggest ticker trends, as well as get dazzled by the stunning collections of three jewellery aficionados.
On the dining front, find out how the latest menu at Imperial Treasure Fine Teochew Cuisine – which has found a new home on the third floor – puts the “fine” into the restaurant’s name. Leave some room, though, because Japanese confectioner LeTAO has also landed, and it’s bound to set the hearts of dessert-lovers aflutter.
What else to feast your eyes on this season: works from some of the art scene’s most current names, home accents to instantly “summerise” your abode, and our take on the season’s latest looks set against a lush orchard backdrop – a fitting tribute to Orchard Road’s heritage.
