Visit Thailand in August for a range of unique experiences catered for women

Stretches of white-sand beaches and crystal-clear water; gold temples and majestic palaces; healthy yet flavourful cuisine; a rich history and unspoilt natural landscapes; relaxing massages and opportunities for adventure – all within one Southeast Asian country. It’s no wonder Thailand is a bucket list destination for so many travellers. For ladies, in addition to the aforementioned, the diverse range of spa and beauty services offered in Thailand may be reason to visit.

At the same time, they may also be more concerned about safety and privacy in comparison to their male counterparts. With this in mind, the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) has partnered with airlines, hotels, resorts, spas and tour operators to create tailored experiences for women. This August, to honour Queen Sirikit’s 84th birthday and to inspire women to come to the ‘Land of Smiles’, the TAT is making it “a month for female travellers”.

Several exclusive arrangements are made available for the Women’s Journey Thailand 2016 initiative throughout August, including immigration lanes, parking and airfare for women. What’s more, they will enjoy privileges and discounts on tourism products and services that are geared towards female travellers, categorised into five different groups: Beautiful Look, Beautiful Shape, Beautiful Mind, Beautiful Retreat and Beautiful Experience.

If you’re looking to give your appearance a rejuvenating boost, there’s a range of agedefying treatments on offer.

Dermaster in Bangkok, for example, is providing ladies a 15 percent discount on all anti-ageing treatments; while Dr Orawan Holistic Beauty and Anti-Aging Institute is offering the Face & Body Lifting Energizing Therapy at a discounted price at both its Bangkok and Phuket branches. Highly recommended is Dii Wellness Med Spa’s Ayurvedic Rose Glamour programme – go with a friend and one of you will get 50 percent off the original price, plus two free Divana hand creams or shower gels.

Dozens of hospitals and clinics across Thailand will also provide discounts on health check-ups and aesthetic treatments to female visitors. Everyday stress can take its toll on our appearance with signs like breakouts, dull skin and a tired complexion, so treat yourself to a mindful retreat to restore inner balance. At Baan Sabai Village Resort and Spa, female guests can enjoy a 30 percent discount on Yoga Retreat Packages throughout the month, whereas the Apsara Beachfront Resort and Villa will be hosting a six-day Mindful Meditation retreat between August 2 and 7.
