Why you’ll want the LG gram 15 notebook

For notebooks, one law has been immutable. If you want a large display, you’ll have to put up with increased bulk and weight.

For notebooks, one law has been immutable. If you want a large display, you’ll have to put up with increased bulk and weight. On the other hand, if you want a compact, portable notebook, you’ll have to put up with a small display. But that has all changed with the new LG gram 15.

UNBELIEVABLY LIGHT

The LG gram 15 is one of LG’s newest notebooks and it’s also the world’s lightest 15-inch notebook. While most 15-inch notebooks struggle to even come close to 2kg, the LG gram 15 weighs just 980g! That’s even lighter than most 13-inch Ultrabooks. As for thickness, it measures just 16.8mm at its thickest point, which is commendable for a 15-inch notebook.

The LG gram 15 achieves its incredible weight thanks to the use of exotic materials not commonly found in notebooks. Specifically, it uses a blend of magnesium alloys in its case. Carbon magnesium, rare-earth magnesium, and easily formable magnesium, all come together to create this ultra- light notebook.

USB TYPE-C: PORT OF THE FUTURE

The second reason is the inclusion of a single USB Type-C port. USB Type-C ports are the future because of its reversible design and versatility. This single port can be used for transferring and transmitting data, video, audio, and even power. In the LG gram 15, its single USB Type-C port supports USB 3.1 Gen 1 speeds (up to 5Gbps) and can even be used for charging with a mobile power bank. How convenient is that?

Since we are on the subject of ports, the LG gram 15 features a plethora of ports, which is impressive considering its size. Apart from the single USB Type-C port, the LG gram 15 also offers two USB 3.0 ports, a single USB 2.0 port, and even a full-size HDMI port and microSD card reader.

IPS DISPLAY FOR VIBRANT COLORS, WIDE VIEWING ANGLES

Thirdly, the LG gram 15 features a sharp and crisp IPS technology display that supports Full-HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) resolution. IPS technology ensures more accurate color reproduction and greater viewing angles, which makes the LG gram 15 ideal for entertainment.

READER AND MOVIE MODES

Speaking of entertainment, this brings us neatly to the fourth reason why you consider the LG gram 15. To make the notebook even more comfortable for media consumption, the LG gram 15 features Reader and Movie viewing modes, display presets that are specially tailored for reading text and watching movies respectively. The Reader mode is particularly useful for users who need to peruse long documents and websites as it reduces blue light output. This can help reduce strain on the eyes and lessen eye fatigue.

In short, the LG gram 15 offers the features and functions one should expect from a 15-inch entertainment notebook, but in a package that is lighter and more portable than most 13-inch Ultrabooks. It’s the best of both worlds.
