Created in collaboration with nine designers (some whom Swarovski has worked with before, and some who are up-andcomers), the Home line is an extension of Atelier Swarovski Jewellery, an initiative the brand started in 2007 to marry its crystal artistry with the talents of international designers (Jean Paul Gaultier is the latest) to create fashion accessories.

It is also a showcase of its new tech – crystal printing using permanent laser-jet print, and Wave Cut, a first, which cuts curved forms in crystal – to transform the material into modern-meets-art homeware.

For texture and contrast, the designers added other materials like marble, metal and resin.

You will need a substantial living space for Hadid’s imposing metal and crystal piece, Crista. But since most of us live in HDB flats, we recommend the smaller pieces that will still make a big statement. – JE

1 This vase by Dutch designer Aldo Bakker (above, left) – in his first collab with Swarovski – has four connected marble and crystal pieces. The base acts as a water holder, while the three verticals hold the flower.

2 Industrial designer/ architect/artist Ron Arad (above, middle) produced bookends in the numerals 0 to 9 and 26 letters of the alphabet.

3 Spanish designer Thomas Alonso (above) won the Swarovski Designers of the Future Award in 2015. His coloured crystal prism piece can be a display or a display stand.
