App A‚ttack: Swipe right to say Yes!

You’ve got to admit, the success of dating app Tinder wasn’t because it satiated our shallow, visual instincts to a very efficient degree (although that helps). It was fun because of its “Swipe Theory” that was simple and enjoyable to use – swipe left for no, and right for yes. Here are some apps that uses a Tinder-like interface, but for everything else.

BARKBUDDY

iOS & Android

Free

If you’re looking for commitment, BarkBuddy has that down. Instead of swiping past one vainpot to the next, this app lets you swipe for adoptable furkids near your area. You can browse the app pup by pup, and share your favorite adoption profiles with your friends. The more you use the app, the better it can recommend based on your preference. You can even learn about your own canine biases from the built-in stats page, and the app comes with a simple way to verify your adoption abilities.

FLARE BY GODADDY

iOS & Android

Free

GoDaddy’s new app, Flare, is designed for like-minded business owners and entrepreneurs in a communal setting that fosters feedback and collaboration. Swipe left to “skip” unfeasible business strategies, or swipe right to “snooze” on concepts that you want to mull over. Tapping on the idea will let the user learn more about it while opening up the option to “love”. Users are free to trade tactics on business models, penetration efforts, and even pricing strategies.

FLIC

iOS

Free

As we said, the swipe interface is fun, easy to use, and visual. So what better combination for clearing out your photos and camera roll? Flic is an app that queues all your smartphone’s photos up in a nice little display. You swipe left to trash unwanted shots, and right to keep them. After you’re done swiping, you can review your digital trash bin before permanently deleting your shots. Unlocking the premium version lets you narrow your activity to a specific month, without ads.

STYLECT

iOS & Android

Free

There’s a saying that goes: When it comes to shoes, women will always be one pair short. Since different shoes are necessary for different occasions (and no shoe should ever look worn, goodness), it only makes sense that there exists an app for you to swipe for a nice pair. Filter shoes by your preferred brand, and swipe accordingly to mark your preferences. As you continue using Stylect, the app’s algorithms will strengthen as it understands your shoe preferences.
