Clandestine: Anomaly (iOS/Android, Free)

How would you cope if aliens invaded your home city? Clandestine: Anomaly is a game that combines elements of tower defense, action, and augmented reality. The game puts the player in the middle of an alien invasion and uses actual geographical locations like your home, office and other nearby areas. Players must protect these areas from attack by constructing towers and other defensive structures. Avoid inaccessible areas or places with lots of water as players are rewarded for traveling to key spots on the game map.

Pokémon Go (iOS/Android, Free)

With over 75 million downloads in its first week, Pokémon Go is the biggest mobile game in the world. The augmented reality game has you running around catching Pokémon. While the augmented reality camera is more fit for taking screenshots than capturing Pokémon, the game is played on an actual map of your locale and will have even the most ardent couch potato finally seeing some fresh air and making friends. Besides collecting Pokémon, you can also evolve and train them up to battle over domiance in Gyms.

Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons (iOS/ Android, S$6.98)

Escape reality with Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons, an epic fantasy story that has you take control of two young brothers on a quest to cure their dying father. Originally released for Xbox 360, this innovative puzzle game has you controlling both brothers at the same time – each with a control stick on either side of the display. To solve puzzles, you’ll have to use their individual strengths and switch back and forth between them.
