PARTY TIME
Have a ball at these music fests around the globe. #yolo

Fuji Rock Festival
Where: Naeba Ski Resort, Niigata, Japan
When: July 22 - 24
What: First held in 1997, Fuji Rock Festival is Japan’s largest outdoor music event. Expect both regional and international acts including Sigur Rós, Beck, Red Hot Chili Peppers and Babymetal. Lodging-wise, there are three campsites available as well as numerous hotels and traditional ryokans within the area.

British Summer Time
Where: Hyde Park, London
When: July 2 – 9
What: Want to tick a concert at the iconic Hyde Park off your travel list? This time of the year is a good time to do it, with British Summer Time. Held over the first two weekends of July, this year’s headlining acts include Florence + The Machine, Kendrick Lamar, Take That, Stevie Wonder, Mumford & Sons and Carole King.

Tomorrowland
Where: Boom, Belgium
When: July 22 – 24
What: Tomorrowland sees thousands of EDM lovers in attendance each year. Heavyweights like David Guetta, Deadmau5, and R3hab will be on the decks, but the festival also showcases a good mix of underground acts. This event is so big that they also have a temporary city, called DreamVille, to house all you party people.

Lollapalooza
Not a big music fan?
No problem, here are some other parties you can crash.

Burning Man
Where: Black Rock Desert, Nevada
When: August 28 – September 5
What: This festival is not for the faint-hearted. Besides taking place in the searing Nevada desert, it has unorthodox rules: no cash transactions and everyone cleans up after themselves afterwards, leaving no trash behind in the desert. And yes, sand will get everywhere.

Boryeong Mud Festival
Where: Boryeong, South Korea
When: July 15 – 24
What: The annual mud fest draws over a million visitors to this coastal town, with both tourists and locals getting down and soaking in that mineral-rich dirt. There are plenty of activities to do too, from mud body painting to mud football match to mud-pool wrestling… you get the idea.

La Tomatina
Where: Buñol, Spain
When: August 31
What: Think Songkran, but instead of being armed with water pistols, the participants are armed with… ripe tomatoes. You don’t have to worry about bringing your own tomatoes – trucks will start rolling into the center of the town with ammo, and it’s every man for himself for the next hour.
