The original 1908 Dudley House has four king and queen guest rooms, while The Cottage comprises three suites and a queen room, an ideal size for getting friends together to celebrate an occasion, which accesses the full run of the place. For extra space and privacy, The Dudley King Suite has its own brand new kitchen, dining room, lounge complete with gas log fire, as well as two decks and surrounding gardens. Really there’s no reason to leave.

Every stay includes breakfast, which is a leisurely affair beginning with juices, yogurt parfaits and cereals before your choice of hot option arrives. Local produce is used where possible. Breakfast is the only meal served at the hotel but your hosts can recommend eateries in the area to try while you are out and about, whether strolling through Wombat Hill Botanical Gardens or bathing in the region’s famously restorative natural springs. Prefer to put your feet up? The Library is an exceptionally cosy spot to play a game of Clue –– the luxury 3D version naturally.
