Technological advancements do not just enable better performance in next-generation products, it also helps to make advanced features more accessible for everyone. This is why the FUJIFILM X70 is such an interesting camera.

As FUJIFILM’s smallest and lightest X-Series camera to date with an APS-C sized sensor, the X70 weighs just 340g (including batteries and memory card). It is also the first X-Series camera to offer a 3.0-inch, 1.04-million dot touchscreen display, with intuitive smartphone-like controls and a 180-degree tilt screen for those all-important selfie shots. And yet, the X70 isn’t your average compact shooter, because if you wanted to take average pictures, you’d use a smartphone.

Featuring a newly developed FUJINON 18.5mm F2.8 fixed focal lens, the X70 is versatile in both form and function, suitable for all kinds of photography from landscapes to snapshots. This 7-element lens isn’t just designed for image quality and sharpness, it uses a special non- collapsible lens design with minimal lens length to keep size down and eliminate telescoping when powered up. What this means for you is that the X70 can start shooting the moment you switch the camera on.

True to its X-Series roots, the X70 is a powerful photography tool with a premium aluminum chassis and manual controls that enthusiasts love. There are dedicated exposure compensation and shutter speed dials on the top plate, plus an aperture ring and a programmable focusing/control ring on the lens barrel. On the other hand, you can flip the Auto Mote Switch lever and go into Advanced SR Auto mode to let the X70 choose optimum settings for you and still get incredible photos without the fuss.

In developing its pocket-sized body, FUJIFILM engineers managed to retain an APS-C sized X-Trans CMOS II sensor and powerful EXR Processor II image processing engine on the X70, which allows it to deliver the high quality images and stunning color reproduction that FUJIFILM X-Series cameras are famous for.
