It’s time to forget everything you once thought about smartphone cameras. Sony is reinvigorating photography with the Xperia XZ2 Premium, using smart technology to craft smarter cameras.

The Xperia XZ2 Premium is the first smartphone to feature the Motion Eye dual camera. The cameras capture scenes with incredible sensitivity, letting you capture moments in dim places with a new brilliance.

The XZ2 Premium is the world’s only smartphone with 4K High Dynamic Range (HDR) movie recording with a 4K HDR display.1 HDR movie recording captures a richer range of details and colors, so your memories are recorded in vivid clarity. You can then watch these videos in the palm of your hand, in the same lifelike precision they were captured in.

And with the ability to shoot 960fps Super slowmotion footage at Full HD, the Xperia XZ2 Premium can capture the fastest subjects with absolute precision.

THE XPERIA XZ2 PREMIUM CAMERA SHATTERS EXPECTATIONS

The future of cameras is moving beyond sensor size, to one where innovation and design define the game. The Xperia XZ2 Premium’s AUBE fusion image signal processor intelligently combines details from both cameras, a 19MP color sensor with a f/1.8 lens, and a 12MP monochrome sensor with a f/1.6 lens, into a single image. This creates a rich photograph that’s more resplendent than a single camera could capture.

The Xperia XZ2 Premium can capture videos at up to ISO 12,800, and still images at up to ISO 51,200. By increasing the sensitivity, the camera can see more in the dark than ever before. This unlocks low-light photography in dim and dark places that would obscure cameras with less sensitivity.

To create artistic emphasis on a subject, simulated background blur will also be available with an upcoming Bokeh Mode.2

BIGGER SCREEN, BOLDER PERFORMANCE

The Xperia XZ2 Premium has a breathtaking 5.8” 4K HDR screen that’s 11% larger and 30% brighter than Sony’s previous 4K HDR display.

The 3,840 x 2,160 LCD display has a rich 765 pixels per inch density, which creates astonishingly detailed images. 4K movies, with their higher resolutions, look especially realistic on the Xperia XZ2 Premium’s display. The display comes in a 16:9 aspect ratio, which is the same ratio as videos shot in Full-HD and 4K. You’ll be able to watch your stories exactly as you recorded them, without distracting black borders.

DESIGNED FOR THE PASSIONATE PHOTOGRAPHER

The Sony Xperia XZ2 Premium is no ordinary smartphone. With a camera without limits, it’s designed for absolute freedom of expression. The 5.8” 4K HDR screen outperforms at every level, with a rich pixel density and a 16:9 aspect ratio that accurately displays your videos as you shot them.
