Back for the third consecutive year, Shape Fitness Fiesta 2015 was a huge success, with more than 300 women gathered at Big Splash in East Coast Park on March 22.

Amore Fitness instructors Tricia Tan, Jesseca Tan and Bernard Caimoy kick-started the session with 30 minutes of Aero Lo, a rhythmic workout that uses non-impact movements to improve one’s overall strength and coordination. Next up was zumba, which had every participant grooving to upbeat Latin rhythms and world tunes. The final half hour was dedicated to Stretchfit, which comprised deep stretches and breathing exercises.

The excitement did not end with the cool down as our sponsors had great prizes to give away. Sunscreen brand Sunplay was looking for sporty female ambassadors to crown as Miss Sunplay. Several worthy contestants emerged from the crowd, and the top three won attractive hampers from Sunplay. Following that, Skechers held a mini limbo rock competition and winners walked away with cool prizes from the brand.

The finale: Dr Vivien Lim, an endocrinologist from Gleneagles Hospital, gave a wellness talk and shared useful tips for a healthier lifestyle. And of course, no one left without picking up their goodie bags and complimentary juice from Florida’s Natural.

My friend introduced Fitness Fiesta to me and I’m here with her today. I’m really looking forward to try Zumba because I’ve never done it before. These events are a great avenue to experience new workouts, and it really helps that there aren’t any guys around!

I saw a newspaper ad for Fitness Fiesta and knew I had to join. I haven’t been too active recently, so this was a good opportunity to kick-start my fitness regime again. I’m so glad I came!

The Zumba segment was great fun. Even though it was a bit challenging to keep up with the instructors, I liked how lively and invigorating it was. The atmosphere was awesome as well. Good job, Shape!”

It’s my first time at Fitness Fiesta and I came with my daughter. I enjoyed Stretchfit very much as it was relaxing and easy to follow. Working out early in the morning is also a great way to start the day.

I don’t exercise often so this was the perfect chance for me to get active. I had so much fun throughout the session and it was encouraging to see everyone is such high spirits. This was such a refreshing start to the morning.
