Mazda’s smallest crossover is clearly aimed at keen drivers. Its powertrain consists of a 2-litre inline-4 paired to a 6-speed automatic, which is sportier than the Honda HR-V’s 1.5-litre 4-pot and CVT. Crucially, however, the CX-3 is smaller than the HR-V, so it isn’t as roomy or as comfy as its rival.
