You won’t want to step on this Lego brick.
It might be a Lego car, but the Lego Technic Lamborghini Sian FKP 37 (model 42115) – the third set in the 1:8 scale Lego Technic Ultimate series – is equipped with a sequential gearbox, a suspension system capable of carrying the 3kg weight, a fully functioning V12 engine, paddle gear shifts and a movable spoiler.
Considering its scale and the whopping 3,696 pieces that go into its assembly, it is by no means small. Working closely with Lamborghini, senior model designer Aurelien Rouffiange and his team took about 18 months to create the set. They even visited the Lamborghini Factory in Sant’Agata Bolognese, Italy, for a closer look at an actual model.
“We went through several design iterations and pushed the boundaries of Lego Technic. We didn’t stop iterating until we found a shape and style both companies were proud of,” says Rouffiange.
The Lamborghini Sian joins the Bugatti Chiron (42083), launched in 2018, and the Porsche GT3 RS (42056) in 2016. And, just like them, it is a limited edition.
