It’s not a stretch to call Clarence Lee, who has 20 years of experience under his belt, Singapore’s most well-known celebrity makeup artist. After all, his deft fingers have transformed the faces of international stars such as Zhang Ziyi, Gong Li, Lin Chi-ling and even The Spice Girls. He’s also one of the expert stylists on Lady First – Singapore, the local spin-off from popular Taiwanese fashion and beauty show Lady First, and is a firm favourite among local beauty experts – us included. The fact is, he’s the only one we’d trust with our makeup on our wedding day. Fair warning: Quality doesn’t come cheap; expect to fork out at least $2,000 for a day of bridal makeup. So what sets Clarence apart? Other than his down-to-earth personality, it’s his knack for making women look naturally beautiful. “No matter how much makeup I’ve put on them, they should still look like themselves,” says Clarence.
