Most people consider me slim, but a sedentary lifestyle hasn’t done my tummy any good – I have some stubborn fat I’d like to get rid of. So I tried Vanquish Me (from $800 for 45min), a contactless body-contouring treatment off ered by BTL Aesthetics that uses radio-frequency energy to target fat cells without disrupting normal tissues. I lay under an adjustable panel that gradually heated up my midsection to a bearable 40 deg C (the optimum temperature for fat cell death apparently) – it felt like a heated blanket. There’s no pain or downtime, so it’s a great lunchtime procedure. After the treatment, my midsection felt firmer, and there was a slight ache – like I’d done several crunches. The result after one session was impressive, but my therapist recommended at least four for best results. – Charmaine Lee, beauty writer
