1) He’s half-Swedish Born in Sweden, his mother is Swedish and his father is American. So growing up, he switched between speaking Swedish to his mum and English to his dad. Also, before he broke into the American market, Joel starred in nine Swedish films, including Easy Money, which earned him the Best Actor title at the 2010 Guldbagge Awards.
2) He loves his family Currently based in LA, Joel said in an interview that he misses his family, who are back in Stockholm, Sweden. He loves to share pictures of his family on social media, captioning them with endearing names such as “Mamma” and “Daddio”. Aww, how sweet!
3) He’s been tattooed by Will Smith While fooling around on the set of their new movie Suicide Squad, Joel had the privilege of being tattooed by Will Smith. He posted a picture on Instagram showing his new tattoo that said “skwad” and also poked fun at Will’s tattooing skills, describing the experience as “watching a drunk baby fly a helicopter”.
