BIO

Minimalist and timeless, the Caravaggio lamp by Danish brand Lightyears sports subtle, feminine curves. It was designed in 2005 by Danish industrial designer Cecilie Manz, whose affinity with grey tones is expressed through the white, and light and dark grey versions of the lamp. A new version of the Caravaggio lamp (pictured) was launched at the Salone del Mobile Milano design fair last year.

1. A neutral grey cord is paired with the matte black pendant, enabling the lowkey lamp to stand out in a room.

2. This understated design suits any room setting, from cosy cafes to contemporary classic homes.

3. The deep shade allows the Caravaggio lamp to emit soft downward illumination; light is thrown up to the top as well.

TRIVIA

There are currently over 40 variations of the lamp, including a high-gloss lacquered floor version with a shade that can be tilted.

The Caravaggio lamp was named after the Italian Baroque painter – Cecilie is a big fan of his paintings.
