For this elegant six-bedroom condominium apartment, Thomas Tham, the principal designer of White Corporate, hand-picked exquisite materials to design a home which exudes sophistication and luxury. He was given free play to design the space. In the spacious living room of this 2,600sqf apartment hangs the Moooi Heracleum lamp, a resplendent modern chandelier almost as large as an eight-seater dining table. The petals branch out of slim rose gold twigs, bathing the space in soft illumination.

A black crystal glass panel hides the 65-inch TV set from view, which helps to maintain the clean look of the home, when the TV is not in use. Behind it is a row of storage spaces designed with slanted panels and ambient backlighting to emulate the ripple effect of waves, as a nod to the apartment’s sea view. Also inspired by the soft swells of the sea are customised features such as the wall above the headboard, and the false ceiling in the master bedroom. The headboard and some walls are clad in an earthy, dual-tone fabric from Europe that’s studded with Swarovski crystals. These add texture and make the room look cosy. For the other bedroom, Thomas created a more cottagestyle look by opting for light wood parquet flooring (instead of the white statuario marble used throughout the home), neutral-hued floral wallpaper, and curtains in a warm platinum shade.
