Hollywood’s sexiest bad boy is the reason we’re counting down the days till Crimson Peak.
Not since Michelle Pfeiffer’s Catwoman has anyone made it look so, so good to be bad… We may have been taught to love the hero and hate the villain, but thanks to a certain Cambridge-educated actor’s genius for making bad guys sympathetic and relatable, we’ll admit that half the time, we don’t even really want Thor to save the world – we just want Loki to be happy, dammit.
So when it comes to Tom’s upcoming turn as the malevolently mysterious Thomas Sharpe in Guillermo Del Toro’s gothic romance Crimson Peak, let’s just say that despite the movie’s maximum creep factor, we’ll still have only one thing on our minds – the highly teased “hard scenes” that earned the film its R rating. (Yes, we’ll endure cinematic rivers of blood for a shirtless Tom Hiddleston.)
But in the end, perhaps the most winning thing about Tom Hiddleston is that in spite of his predilection for playing onscreen baddies, he’s a real-life gent at heart, with a voice that makes reasonable, rational women want to swoon like feckless damsels in distress. Just put us out of our misery, Tom, and film an epic romantic drama that we can take to our graves.
