The baby-faced actor first registered on our radar five years ago, when he starred in his breakout role as a carefree scholar in the period drama Sungkyunkwan Scandal. His popularity was further boosted by his stint as a permanent cast member on variety show Running Man.

While Song Joong Ki’s good looks defo played a big part in his rise to fame, he’s proven to be more than just a pretty face. It was revealed that the actor was a straight-A student in school, and even won an award for perfect attendance. Sounds like the type of guy we’d want to bring home to our parents…

He went on a hiatus following his enlistment in August 2013, and was discharged in May last year. Joong Ki’s marking his return to the small screen this year with Descendants of the Sun, where he stars as a military commander. Judging by the released stills, the 30-year-old is sizzling in his uniform and aviators. We can’t wait!
