Super Quick Q5
ABT Sportsline has taken the Audi SQ5 and turned it into the ABT SQ5 – a diesel-powered sports utility vehicle capable of outrunning hot hatches and pulling like a freight train. This automobile is already potent to begin with – packing a 3-litre turbo-diesel V6 that pumps out 313bhp and 650Nm. With the ABT Power piggyback ECU installed, the engine produces an additional 47bhp and 50Nm, for a total of 360bhp and 700Nm.
The motor does not receive any additional modifications. ABT does not provide performance figures, but it’s likely that the ABT SQ5 is quicker than the “regular” SQ5, which hits the century mark in 5.1 seconds. To improve the vehicle’s handling, the SQ5 is fitted with ABT height-adjustable springs.
The ride height can be lowered by as much as 35mm. Complementing the car’s lower stance is its bodykit, which includes a more intimidating front grille, fender extensions and the de rigueur roof spoiler for added downforce. Three wheel options (CR, DR and ER-C) are available, and each model comes in 20- to 22-inch sizes
Aggressor Class
THE Mercedes-AMG CLA45 is already known for its searing performance, but German tuner Loewenstein Manufaktur has raised it to another level. When the car leaves the tuner’s premises, it is known as the Loewenstein Saphir LM-45 410 Turbo (which is a mouthful).
With a piggyback ECU installed, this vehicle’s stock output of 360bhp and 450Nm is raised to 410bhp and 530Nm. If desired, these figures can be bumped up to 425bhp and 540Nm when a modified downpipe, sport air filter and sport catalytic converter are specified.
Indicating the automobile’s greater athleticism is its carbon fibre widebody kit, which increases the front and rear widths by 40mm and 80mm respectively. There are milled exhaust tips, too. Helping the Saphir LM-45 410 Turbo put the power down are its large tyres – 245/35 R20 in front and 285/30 R20 for the rear. These are mounted on the brand’s single-piece Concave wheels
Track-Ready Crocodile
PORSCHE has launched the Cayman GT4 Clubsport, the track-only version of the midengine coupe. Unlike the road-going GT4 model, which is only available with a 6-speed manual gearbox, the GT4 Clubsport is equipped with a 6-speed dual-clutch gearbox specially designed for racing.
This vehicle’s interior has been stripped down and features a welded roll cage for safety and stiff ness. Both the front and rear suspensions are taken from the 911 GT3 Cup racecar. A racing-spec rear mechanical diff erential is standard, along with an antilock braking system that off ers 12-stage adjustment.
The four 380mm steel brake discs handle stopping duties. The front discs have 6-piston aluminium callipers, while the rear ones have 4-piston callipers.
