METALLIC LIDS

A glint of bronze brightens the eyes and warms up your whole complexion.

GO SPORTY

For a low-key look, pick a shade with zero glimmer and focus it in your crease. First dust on a beige shadow all over as your base, then blend a brown into the crease. We like Nars Single Eye Shadow in Blondie ($38, Tangs at Tang Plaza), but you can use a matte bronzer if you already have one. That little definition accentuates the eye shape.

UP IT TO SULTRY

A metallic bronze delivers instant intensity. Apply a swoosh of a creamy gold-bronze, such as Bobbi Brown Long-Wear Cream Shadow in Beach Bronze ($41), to the entire lid. Pat a hint more of it into the inner corners of your eyes with your ring finger. “The shimmer will light them right up,” says Gita Bass, a US-based celebrity makeup artist and member of the Simple Advisory Board. The result is smouldering!

PEACHY CHEEKS

The universally fl attering colour: Peach with rosy notes, says Andrew Sotomayor, a US celebrity makeup artist.

GO SPORTY

Work in a light peach hue where you naturally flush – the apples of your cheeks – to beam that post-workout radiance. Using your fingers, blend on a cream blush like 3CE Creamy Cheek Stick in Sweet Apricot ($30, Sephora) until it appears to melt into the skin.

UP IT TO SULTRY

Here’s where you accentuate the drama by sweeping a deeper peach higher up on the cheekbones, Gita says. “It gives your face an instant lift and adds a striking contrast.” We like the vibrancy of Stila Convertible Color in Peony ($35, Sephora).

BERRY LIPS

The most versatile hue in the dark-colour family, berry comes in a range of shades that are equally gorgeous.

GO SPORTY

A tinted lip balm gives a subtle, wine-stained eff ect that looks effortless. “Glide it on straight from the tube for a rich translucent shine,” Andrew says. Kose Esprique Rich Essence Rouge in RD464 Rosehip Tea’s ($39, Isetan) extra sheen catches the light, so lips appear soft and cushiony.

UP IT TO SULTRY

For a glam look, switch to a creamy opaque like Yves Saint Laurent Beaute Kiss & Blush in #11 Prune Impertinent ($50) for its saturated pigment. It won’t budge if you pat your lips with blotting paper after every swipe. “This soaks up oils and lets you build really intense colour.”

HIGH-GLOSS LASHES

Time to break out the black mascara. The trick to fl ashing a toned-down or sultry fringe is in the wand type.

FOR SPORTY

The most natural-looking lashes are nicely separated with a hint of curl. For this, you need a plastic or silicone wand. “These really grab and rake through the hairs,” Gita says. If you use M.A.C Cosmetics Upward Lash Mascara ($38), you can skip the curler completely as its mini plastic brush makes it easy to curl each lash as it coats.

UP IT TO SULTRY

Get mega-volume without your lashes looking spidery by using a thick-bristled brush. “The brush with Tarte Gifted Amazonian Clay Smart Mascara ($30, Sephora) is so densely packed, it builds drama without clumping,” Gita says. Finish with translucent powder under your eyes, Andrew adds: “That way, when you blink, any moisture from your makeup will not dissolve your mascara.”
