Invited guests got to restaurant-hop between Dallas Restaurant and Bar and the 600-seater Eat at Seven (a Japanese multi-concept establishment housing Enbu, NikuNoHi, Nigiro Café, and Maguro-Donya Miura-Misaki- Kou Sushi & Dining). These lucky people were among the first to sample the eateries’ delectable offerings. Talk about feasting in the city!

Ahead of the trend for natural, handcrafted beauty products, this Tuscan brand, founded in 1972, was artisanal before this even became a buzzword. To mark the debut of its first store in Southeast Asia, guests received a welcome gift set, savoured Italian gelato and took home instant photo prints.

ARN NAN & SAINT MA
IndoChine Group’s founder, Michael Ma, marked the opening of his two new restaurants by inviting 1,200 guests to join in the revelry while relaxing in Suntec City’s Sky Garden. Among the guests were prominent ambassadors, including Bansarn Bunnag of Thailand, Luis Fernando de Andrade Serra of Brazil, H. Taner Seben of Turkey, and Alfredo Toro Hardy of Venezuela.

SCANTEAK HOLM LAUNCH
To celebrate 50 years of local design, this home-grown furniture retailer launched a new collection called holm. Its name is derived from the Old Norse word holmr, which means “small island”, and it comprises a range of designer pieces made in collaboration with international design studio Outofstock. At the launch, a $120,000 bursary, contributed by six local companies, was given out to six tertiary institutes’ design schools.

TEAM MERCEDES F1 DRIVER APPEARANCE
Ahead of the Singapore Grand Prix in September, Nico Rosberg from the MERCEDES AMG PETRONAS Formula One Team held a special meet-and-greet at Suntec City on Sept 17. There, he interacted with his many fans, answering 61 questions (one for each of the 61 laps of the race) with emcee Yvette King, and took pictures and signed autographs. Among other things, the racing star and avid football fan shared what it’s like to be a new dad, and talked about his love for vintage cars.

THE GANG DOCTOR MEET - AND - GREET
Some 3,000 fans packed Suntec City on Oct 10 to see South Korean actor Joo Won at his first free, public meet-and-greet session in Singapore. The 28-year-old heart-throb was in town to promote his latest drama series, The Gang Doctor, which recently concluded its 18-episode run on ONE. Joo Won was accompanied by up-and-coming singer-actress, Park Hye Soo, who plays his sister in the series. At the event, Hye Soo sang Please Only Remember Me, a song from The Gang Doctor’s soundtrack.
