The Loewe Craft Prize is a platform to celebrate the work of exceptionally talented people who use hands, minds and tradition to make singular objects that follow an original formula and speak their maker’s own language,” says Loewe’s Creative Director Jonathan Anderson, who initiated the annual prize in 2016. Open to any professional artisan over the age of 18, submissions for the second edition of the Loewe Craft Prize are now open (but only till 17 October) and will be judged by a jury that includes the President of the World Crafts Council Rosy Greenlees; the former Director of the National Museum of Korea, Hongnam Kim; as well as furniture and product designer Toshiyuki Kita. The winner of the Loewe Craft Prize will be awarded 50,000 euros and the winning work will be included in the “Loewe Craft Prize 2018” exhibition in London.
