LE SYNDROME IAN AT THE SINGAPORE INTERNATIONAL FESTIVAL OF ART

Starring Christian Rizzo, winner of the prestigious Fedora – Van Cleef & Arpels Prize for Ballet, Le Syndrome Ian explores the stories and history of nightclub dancing.

Watch nine dancers recapture this sense of intoxication on the stage, and witness the spontaneity that happens every night on the dance floor, for a collective vibration that will engage audiences. On from 24 to 26 August at the SOTA Drama Theatre.

Unveiled at Salone del Mobile 2017, considered the couture week of the furniture world, Hermès’ new home collection draws inspiration from utterly different sources: Neck ties, time-honoured saddlery, and the simple concept that each piece of furniture has its own true use. There is a coat hanger in brick bridle leather and palladium-finish brass that could easily be mistaken as an objet d’art on the wall; while a serving trolley in natural maple and woven wicker, accented with fawn H bull calf leather straps and brass wheels, elevates indoor-outdoor serving to truly elegant levels. For the table are porcelain plate sets featuring micromotifs of the H-link to form a chain-like pattern in special shades of garnet, mint and mandarin.

Marking its big 3-0 since the local play made its theatre debut is the long-awaited sequel, Army Daze 2. Expect a hilarious catch-up with all five original characters—now successful businessmen facing mid-life crises of their own— and the next generation, fronted by Malcom Png’s son, Justin, and his band of army brothers who face romantic conundrums centred around Renee, played by 16-year-old singing sensation, Natalie Ong. On from 4 to 20 August at the Drama Centre.
