PREPARATIONS FOR THE SECOND EDITION of the Thailand Yacht Show (TYS2) are under way. Organiser 3L Events and co-host the Thai Government aim to showcase the emerging marine tourism powerhouse of Phuket to the world.

The show has two distinct sections: exhibition space on land, and show berths for day boats, cruisers, yachts and superyachts. Host venue Ao Po Grand Marina is near the scenic islands of Phang Nga Bay and it can easily accommodate 50 or 60 superyachts up to 150m in length.

The exhibition marquee will encompass an additional 30% of floor space that will cater for featured equipment demonstrations, the latest dive products, interactive simulators and the Thai Marine Business Association (TMBA) lounge.

The on-water section will have an array of marine activities including the return of the well-received demonstration platform, toys and tenders, docking challenges and the hugely popular floating lounge by HYPE Boat Club.

Returning exhibitor, Boat Lagoon Yachting, has confirmed an eight-yacht line-up across a range of brands including Princess Yachts, Jeanneau and Prestige Yachts, including a 32m Princess. Simpson Marine, one of Asia’s leading new and brokerage yacht sales companies, will present the new Sanlorenzo 46Steel Forwin. Yacht dealership company Lee Marine will also display a range of yachts from Ferretti Custom Line, CRN, CdM and others, while Multihull Solutions will showcase Fountaine Pajot’s Saba 50. The Norman Foster-designed Ocean Emerald will also return to Thailand’s shores this December.
