THE WORLD’S LARGEST TRADE EXHIBITION of equipment, materials and systems for the international marine leisure industry, Metstrade is organised by RAI Amsterdam in association with the International Council of Marine Industry Associations (ICOMIA) and will be held in Rai Amsterdam, Holland. The show features conferences, events and three dedicated specialist pavilions: the SuperYacht Pavilion (SYP), the Marina & Yard Pavilion (MYP) and the Construction Material Pavilion (CMP).
There has also been a notable rise in the number of companies opting to have a stand in the pavilions at Metstrade 2016 compared to the 2015 exhibition. Many more square metres have already been booked at SYP compared to June 2015, including first-time exhibitors such as Mapei, Nobiskrug and Pin-Craft. Both MYP and CMP already had as many exhibitors registered in June for 2016 as there were in total at the 2015 show. Notable newcomers in these pavilions include Marina Projects and Dockmarine in the MYP and Scott Bader and BNS Industrial in the CMP.
The extra hall added to the brand-new layout for the show, which will increase the show floor by over 3,000sqm, proved to be attractive to Yamaha, Dometic and a range of other exhibitors. The InnovationLAB concept and stage will form a central innovation hub with dedicated presentations of the winning and nominated products for the prestigious Dame Design Award.
The ICOMIA World Marina Conference (WMC2016) will be hosted by HISWA, the Dutch marine industry association at Rai Amsterdam right after the Metstrade Show.
WMC2016 in Amsterdam marks a full circle, returning the Conference to the city of its birth in 1993. In the intervening years, the Conference has been hosted in Genoa, Fort Lauderdale, Sydney, San Diego, Oostende (Belgium), Singapore and Istanbul. The WMC was organised triennially until 2014, after which it moved to a biennial cycle with WMC2016 being the first in the new sequence.
WMC is organised by the ICOMIA Marinas Group (IMG), chaired by Roberto Perocchio representing UCINA, the Italian marine industry association as well as the Association of Italian Marinas (ASSOMARINAS). It is a platform for discourse and networking for the international community interested in all things related to marinas.
Delegates will gather to get an update of the state of the marina industry, learn of the latest developments and innovations, advance their personal development, make new connections and reacquaint with old friends.
The theme for 2016 – Future of Marinas in a Changing World – puts into context the need for constant industry renewal and regeneration in the information age. Aimed at marina Owners, operators, developers, consultants, service providers, government officials, equipment manufacturers, nautical tourism promoters and port and harbour operators, the event is set to attract 300+ delegates from over 30 countries.
