Returning for the 23rd year, the Healthy Breastfed Baby Contest by KK Women’s and Children’s Hospital (KKH) was held on Aug 5 at United Square.

The long-standing annual event aims to raise awareness and support breastfeeding, and is organised in conjunction with World Breastfeeding Week.

Some 60 babies were shortlisted for the finals.

Professor Alex Sia, the hospital’s chief executive officer, and Cynthia Pang, assistant director of Nursing, Lactation Services, presented the top prizes for the KKH Healthy Breastfed Baby and the Most Popular Baby categories.

Winners walked home with attractive prizes sponsored by Pigeon, Great Eastern, Mononos, Mothercare and Young Parents. Finalists also received hampers from Cetaphil, Great Eastern and Sweetest Moments. Families and shoppers took part in fun stage activities and were entertained by a ventriloquist show, as well.

Earlier in the day, nursing mums came together for a mass latch-on.

They also learnt how to keep fit and healthy from a KKH physiotherapist.
