Fast forward 80 years, and the brand continues to reach new heights, as seen at the launch of the 2016 Pilot’s Watch collection at Red Dot Design Museum. The cocktail party was a glitzy affair in ’30s fashion: The 250 guests touched down on the replicated runway—complete with a propeller plane and liveried personnel—and checked in at the Aviator’s Lounge to discover the new timepieces. Hangar-like elements and a gallery of storied photographs set the scene, while the tunes of jazz chanteuse, Dawn Ho, and cocktails inspired by pioneering aviators Amelia Earhart and Antoine de Saint-Exupéry, kept spirits high.
