The Crab Benedict with coconut curry hollandaise sauce is just one of the few delicious brunch offerings that take on an Asian spin here.

If you’re tired of going to the same places in the city for brunch, Noshery might just make for a refreshing change. Nestled in the quiet Rochester Park enclave, the cafe-by-day and bar-by-night is part of the newly revamped Nosh, which you might already know for its lush green surrounds and rustic feel.

Housed in the ground floor of a blackand- white colonial bungalow, Noshery exudes cosy warmth. With interiors designed by The Strangely Good, it is decked out in wood tones, shades of cream, as well as both soothing and energising greens. Passing a small quaint garden and entering the space, you will notice the tropical foliage wallpaper, parquet flooring, wainscoting panelling, timber rafters and white bricks walls. This makes it feel like a lodge, but a modern and trendy one! The furniture is a tasteful mismatch of rattan chairs, French bistro stools, marble-topped tables and, anchoring the room, a communal dining bench with an incorporated planter.

Noshery is also decorated with vintagestyle objects such as clocks, illustrated posters, and books on botany. The details — down to the specially customised salt and pepper shakers that match the wallpaper — are part of the whole experience!

While the new cafe is especially great for laid-back weekend brunches, it also offers comfort food for all-day dining. Delicious eats include classics reinterpreted with a local or Asian twist, such as the Crab Benedict ($20) with coconut curry hollandaise, Devil’s Breakfast ($20) with sambal flakes, and yakitori salmon ($25) with a Vietnamese caramel glaze, served with coconut rice. There are also salads, sandwiches, desserts, and more!
