ABOVEA deft mix of materials and details, including panelling on the walls, polished marble, rattan furniture and wood finishes, gives the space a trendy rustic-luxe look.

RIGHT Full-height windows, a neutral colour palette and a contemporary coastal-inspired design that is casual, yet stylish, makes the all-day dining restaurant oh-so welcoming.

Situated at the recently completed South Beach Avenue, Fynn’s offers the perfect respite from the hustle and bustle of city living with its upscale beach resort vibe. The inviting, rusticluxe ambience is enhanced by the Instagramworthy interiors, comprising a collection of beautiful marble surfaces, honey-hued natural materials and brass-tone accents, as well as greenery to soften the space.

Chun Y. Gee of Gee Global, the multidisciplinary branding and design consultancy behind the design of Fynn’s, says the look was inspired by a contemporary take on coastal design. The floor, finished with epoxy and stained blue, resembles the surface of a sparkling sea, while the white walls and floorto- ceiling windows make the place light and airy. All the furniture, including the marbletopped tables, marble-clad counters, rattanweaved chairs and fashionable lamps, were custom-made.

As for the food, there are both contemporary global flavours and classic favourites. Expect unique mixtures of flavours and textures in imaginative creations, such as the Tuscan kale salad ($19) with crispy kale, fennel, red radish, granola, and pomegranate vinaigrette, or wholesome mains, such as charred lamb ($23.50) with couscous, pumpkin mash, harissa and cucumber. Fynn’s also prides itself on its delicious handmade pasta, and home-baked cakes and pastries. Drinkswise, cool down with a refreshing lemonade (we like the pineapple pink pepper, $7) or enjoy a coffee by Common Man Coffee Roaster.

The casual, yet chic, all-day dining restaurant makes a great spot for a laid-back weekend brunch, but it also opens early at 9am on weekdays – great for those who work in the area and want a quiet breakfast. Another plus is that it’s conveniently located near the exit of Esplanade MRT station, next to the JW Marriott Hotel.

FYNN’S IS AT #B1-21 SOUTH BEA CH AVENUE, 26 BEA CH ROAD, TEL: 6384-1878, WWW.FYNNSRESTAURANT.COM (OPEN DAILY EXCEPT MONDAYS).
