A trip to this purveyor of wallcoverings and fabric will have you giddy with excitement. Located on the fourth floor of the APS Building, it offers gorgeous prints, weaves, and embroidery from brands like Pierre Frey from France, Designers Guild from the UK, and Mokum from Australia. These make great upholstery for cushions and sofas, and the staff will also recommend apparel-friendly fabric and home accessories.

What a difference a good mattress makes! Tempur has four collections – including Cloud, for sleepers who love a soft mattress - that are designed to adapt to a user’s needs and body shape. If you’ve seen more plain subway and Peranakan tiles than you can count, check out GF+A Global’s arsenal of European tiles, including those from brands like Bisazza and Inalco. Art and lighting are one and the same in Serip Organic Lighting, and a trip to its store – the newest one on Mohamed Sultan Road – will transfix you. The luxury Portugese brand designs breathtaking glass chandeliers that are fashioned after the organic and ethereal style of nature. Iconic pieces include the icicle-like Waterfall and Pathleaf, a dense collection of bronze leaves.

Italian furniture company Molteni Group has partnered with luxury retailer P5 to launch a flagship store for two brands: Molteni & C, which designs immaculate wardrobe systems and furniture; and Dada, whose kitchens use natural stone countertops sourced from Italy. The twostorey, 8,000sqf store also offers designs by Carl Hansen and Louis Poulsen.

If you don’t have much time left in the area, squeeze in a visit to Homes 65. From Japanese tatami mats and Sicilian lava stone tiles to contemporary Italian brands such as Tonin Casa, and pioneer charred wood furniture brand Smoke, this local retailer has it all. Apart from furniture and accessories in numerous styles, it also offers mattresses and – if you can fit one in your home – saunas. So much to see here!

Its in-house design arm offers upholstery and turnkey services, too; Meritus Hotels & Resorts and the new Andaz Singapore are some of its clients.
