WOHABEING SAMP AN DOUBLE BATH

The Sampan Double Bath mimics the elegant tapered shape of the traditional Chinese wooden boat. Made from Apaiser marble, Apaiser’s in-house material, the bath promises a luxurious experience with its backrests and infinity edge overflow details.

Back when the Singapore River was a thriving trading port, goods were loaded and unloaded into warehouses using sampans. Sampan in Cantonese means “three boards”, referring to the three planks that made its hull – a flat one for the base and two curved for each side.

JAPANESE WOODEN BATHTUB

Home to a Japanese family, this penthouse in Robertson Quay features a soaking tub that was specially customised and shipped from Japan. The soaking tub, or ofuro in Japanese, is designed such that a body can soak within the bathwater while sitting upright.

Bathtubs that are made from wood retain heat longer than porcelain ones. Japanese soaking tubs are also deeper than typical bathtubs.
