A neutral colour scheme and simple high-quality furnishings bring out the modern classic decor theme of this apartment.
Interior designer Emily Tan from Weiken designed this three-bedroom condominium unit in a classically European style, for a couple with one child.
Using a colour palette of white, cream and brown, and fine furnishings from Europe, she conjured up a cosy, yet luxurious atmosphere in the 1,550sqf home.
The crystal chandelier in the dining area, for example, brings an old-world charm to the space, sitting elegantly with the neutral colour scheme. The homeowners imported it, along with furniture such as the sofa, armchairs, dining table and chairs, from a wholesaler in Europe.
Simple white moulding strips on the living room wall enhance the theme of the space, and add decorative detail to the wall’s cream laminate from Jenning and Formica.
Next to the entrance of the home, Emily created a walk-in shoe cabinet for the homeowners’ designer shoe collection. It is clad with a tinted mirror to create the illusion of a larger space, while also replicating the look of an upscale boutique.
Weiken also partnered with Hyflux to provide high-quality filtered water for drinking, cooking and food preparation, as well as a filtration system in the kitchen. Induction cookers are used in place of gas stoves to create a more streamlined kitchen countertop, while providing a safer cooking experience.
