The famed French designer has incorporated a concept of “democratic design” in the boutique hotel. He specially designed the interiors to have “snug” but flexible spaces that encourage gathering and mingling among guests. The hotel also exudes an upscale but cosy vibe. Customised art and design elements, such as bronze sculptures, chandeliers and colourful psychedelic tiles adorn the communal spaces, while guest rooms feature warm colours and plush, luxurious textiles. The 293 rooms come in varying sizes and configurations, such as a duplex-style loft, or with terraces, and even ceiling heights of up to 4.1m! Other unique and personalised touches include the 1960s’-style enamel mugs in the rooms.

M Social also boasts modern conveniences. Apparently, it is the first hotel here to have a self-check-in kiosk in the lobby for a quick, fuss-free check-in any time of the day. Also, apart from being equipped with the usual amenities, each room comes with a smartphone loaded with a city guide, unlimited mobile data, as well as free local and international calls for you to use – how thoughtful!
