Spongebob Squarepants

If you watched this as a kid, you would have loved the shenanigans that Spongebob and his BFF Patrick got up to, but as an adult, the character you’d most identify with is the long-suffering Squidward Tentacles. Dead-end job? Idiots for colleagues? Lamenting that nobody ever realises what a talented genius you are? We understand all too well, bro.

The Simpsons

IYou gotta give props to a cartoon that has been running for 27 seasons and counting. Besides the LOLs that the eccentric citizens of Springfield provide (we’re looking at you, Homer), The Simpsons is also known for its witty satire of current events and political commentary. Who says cartoons are just mindless entertainment?

Quotable quote: “Kids, you tried your best and you failed miserably. The lesson is, never try.”

The Regular Show

If you love stoner films like Pineapple Express and Harold & Kumar, you’ll appreciate The Regular Show. It stars a blue jay named Mordecai and a raccoon named Rigby, who work as groundskeepers at a park. Well, not so much working, more like getting into trouble of the supernatural sort. Laughs guaranteed!

Quotable quote: “You can’t touch music, but music can touch you.”

We Bare Bears

Um, it’s three freaking cute bears – Grizzly, Panda, and Ice Bear – that travel around by stacking on top of one another?! What more reason do you need to watch such a cute show? Cuteness overload aside, it’s also surprisingly relatable. So far, the bears have tried to get famous by creating a viral video and even dealt with an AirBnB guest from hell.

Quotable quote: “Ice Bear needs it for everyday hustlin’.”

Bad Moms

“I’m so tired of trying to be this perfect mom,” sighs Mila Kunis. “I’m done.” And with those words, Mila sparks off a mom-on-mom war in Bad Moms, which is sorta like Means Girls, but instead of teenagers, you get women in their mid-30s declaring war on each other. Expect loads of F-bombs and inappropriateness, so you might want to rethink watching this with mummy dearest.

Jason Bourne

We’re all suckers for good spy films – just look at the James Bond franchise and last year’s sleeper hit, Kingsman: The Secret Service. Jason Bourne is no different. Since the events in the last Bourne film starring Matt Damon almost 10 years ago, the former CIA operative has been lying low. That is, until he’s made aware of an unidentified assassin who’s bent on taking his life. Cue the fistfights, car chases, and massive explosions.

The Legend Of Tarzan

You know how the original story of Tarzan goes. This live action movie picks up from after Tarzan (played by the hunky Alexander Skarsgård) has married Jane (Margot Robbie), and settled into life as an aristocrat. Trouble starts brewing when he gets sent to Congo by a corrupt captain, and it pretty much blows into an all-out war involving herds of CGI animals and tribespeople. Oh, and of course, Alexander Skarsgård’s abs are out on full display too.
