EXPANDED FLAGSHIP STORE OF PREMIUM FRENCH AUDIO BRAND.
Wander into the newly reopened Devialet store on the first floor of The Shoppes at Marina Bay Sands and you might wonder if you have stepped into an audio store or into the set of a sci-fi movie. Displayed on top of staggered hexagonal blocks within a whitewashed showroom are a dozen or so gleaming white ovoids – these are the French audio brand’s latest innovation, the wireless speaker named the Phantom.
After just three months of operation, the store reopened in November 2017 to unveil a 1,000sqf space, three times its original size, making it the largest Devialet store in the region. The expanded store features two listening rooms that are each acoustically treated to create the perfect conditions for experiencing the physical impact of Phantom’s ultra-dense sound.
Quentin Sannie, CEO of Devialet, explains that the store expansion demonstrates the brand “building towards our vision of making great sound accessible not just in Asia, but around the world”.
First launched in 2015, the Phantom has since racked up considerable attention among audiophiles, in terms of its looks, price and sound – and most of the reviews are positively glowing. For its unobstrusive size, many have noted its powerful chest-vibrating sound coming from its Heart Bass Implosion woofers on its sides, which visibly quiver when the bass-line of the music plays.
The Phantom can be paired with its stand options. This one is the Treepod, made from solid beech and cast aluminium alloy moulded to fi t the base of the speaker perfectly.
