My Reading Room

For innisfree, it’s important that beauty is derived from a natural and beneficial source. And what better source than the flora of the idyllic Jeju Island? The plants, flowers and volcanic soil in Jeju Island have survived for thousands of years and each has its own set of miraculous skincare benefits.

THE SOUL OF INNISFREE

Eco-friendliness

To minimise environmental damage and contamination, innisfree uses ecofriendly packaging made from recyclable and biodegradable materials like soy-ink on packaging as well as tangerine peel labels. The brand also leads the way in environmental protection through the Empty Bottle Recycling Campaign.

Research and development

Being reliable to both their customers and nature is innisfree’s goal, and that’s why research and development is so important. Through rigorous studies, innisfree is able to fully harness the benefits of natural ingredients, and also better understand how our skin functions.

Pure ingredients

Whether it’s flower parts, green tea leaves or volcanic clusters, all of the ingredients that innisfree uses in their products are derived naturally and responsibly to ensure optimum quality.

The foundation of it all

The plate signifies the heart and foundation of the brand. With wide open arms, innisfree is committed to share and maintain the benefits of the nature in Jeju Island.

WHY JEJU?

Lush greenery, clear waters and fertile volcanic soil – need we say more?

When Suh Sunghwan, founder and late chairman of Amore Pacific (parent company of innisfree) first headed to Jeju Island, all he saw was a rocky wasteland with little vegetation. But he saw the potential that Jeju Island had to offer with its crystal clear lakes, fresh air and fertile volcanic soil from Hallasan.

And so in 1979, he opened the first chemical-free green tea farm on the island. It was a risky decision that paid off – today, Amore Pacific has a better understanding of the vital role that nature plays in our everyday lives and how it can benefit our mind, body and soul. And it is this insight that became the foundation of innisfree, a brand that’s dedicated to bringing the natural goodness of Jeju Island to all of us.

DID YOU KNOW?

Over 2,000 different species of plants can be found on Hallasan alone.
